Welcome

Whether this is your first time looking into therapy or if you have been to therapy before, welcome.

We provide counselling services and psychotherapy to:

  • Parents and caregivers of young children, toddlers and infants who: 1) are looking to strengthen their relationship with their children, 2) want to better support their children when they have big emotions, or, 3) feel overwhelmed with parenting at times
  • People who are overcoming challenging childhoods or childhood trauma, and those who want to unpack how their experiences growing up affect current relationships - especially in the context of parenting
  • Professionals who are exposed to traumatic events and information as part of their career and community work, especially those working in healthcare, law, politics, and those working to advance human rights & the well-being of children

Additional areas of focus include: setting healthy boundaries; disenfranchised grief, including pet loss; people pleasing; anxiety; supporting survivors of childhood abuse and neglect including adult survivors and non-offending family members affected by medical child abuse (sometimes called Factitious Disorder Imposed on Another, and formerly called Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy).

Circle of Security Parenting Program:

At times all parents feel lost or without a clue about what our child might need from us. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you. The 8-week, Circle of Security® Parenting™ program (COSP) is offered in a group format, and is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.

Parents and caregivers of children with anxiety may be interested in SPACE Treatment for childhood anxiety:

SPACE stands for Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions and is a parent-based treatment program for children with anxiety, OCD, and related challenges. When SPACE treatment is successful children feel less anxious and function better following treatment. Weekly individual sessions, with the parent or caregiver, typically last 8 - 12 weeks. SPACE is effective in treating the following in children and adolescents: separation anxiety, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, fears and phobias, and Obsessive-compulsive Disorder (OCD).
